Level Designer Interview Part 5 -
Fragland has posted part 5 of their level designers interview. I guess yesterday we didn't mention part 4. Anyway, part 5 talks with Dan Koppel, lead level designer over at Gray Matter Studios (currently working on Return to Castle Wolfenstein), and Alan Willard, level designer over at Epic Games. Yesterday's part 4 talked with Jeremy Statz from Raven Software and Richard "Levelord" Gray from Ritual Entertainment.

Forum Threads -
If while attempting to read a thread you have been greeted with a blank white screen, you have encountered a thread that wasn't rebuilt correctly during yesterdays troubles. Hopefully all of those have been fixed, but if you encounter another one, please let me know.

65,280 -
That's the number of extra colors you can use in JK mats, if you have a compatible video card. See this thread, where 16-bit mats in JK are discussed.
Forum Update -
As you know (by reading the post just below this one), we have had some problems with the forums. I'm still working on them, but it looks like all but a few threads are fully recoverable, but unfortunately, if you tried to post, your account was somehow deleted. If this is the case, you'll have to re-register when the forums come back up. Big apology for this inconvenience.
On a side note, as soon as we switch servers (we've got too much traffic for our current one), we will be moving to a new type of forum software. It operates and looks nearly identical to our current setup, but it is completely database-driven, which means more speed and less headaches. Don't worry, when this happens, ALL threads and registrations will be transferred. This should happen in about a month.
Update: All threads have been restored. However, I pruned both the Discussion forum and the Showcase forum. I just deleted messages older than 30 days on the Discussion, and 60 days on the Showcase. Perhaps this will help our forum to run better... We'll see how it goes. If you were one of the few (about 10) that had your account deleted, please re-register, and if you for some reason care about your post count, send me an email with your exact username, and estimated count before you lost it, and I will fix your profile.

Houston, we have a problem... -
I'm not exactly sure what is going on, but there's something messed with the Forums. Apparently if you try to post a message, your account will be deleted. I've run some tests, and this is definately the case. For the time being, I would suggest that you do not attempt to post on the forums, as there is obviously a bug at work.
I'll try to get ahold of Brian and see what he can do. We'll keep you updated.
[Update: Hmm.. now there is something slowly deleting all the posts on all the forums. At current we've lost the Discussion forum, Showcase forum, and the Asheron's Call Forum. I'm fairly sure this isn't a hacker, but we'll see what Brian says. Sigh]

Etc. -
Today I will be shopping for a Jeep Wrangler and a house/apartment, so there probably won't be any updates. Perhaps the rest of the staff will do some work, eh? By the way, Kedri's on vacation, that's why you haven't seen his mug around here lately.
Command Chamber Level Features -
The Admiral's Command Chamber has updated with a couple new level features - be sure to stop by and check out the info and screenshots.

Rbots: Welcome to Massassi! -
I am very pleased to announce the immediate release of the new Rbots page, hosted right here at Massassi. Don't know what Rbots is? I'll let Raynar explain:
While you're at it, be sure to stop by the official Rbots forums and leave any comments.
Please Note: Unlike so many projects, there are already JK and MotS versions of Rbots available for download on the Rbots page! What are you waiting for?
Rbots is a project to create a "bot" for Jedi Knight. A bot is a computer controlled player for multiplayer games. It should react and play just like a human player - it has health, shields, limited ammo & weapons and when it dies it will 'respawn' to allow the game to continue. Multiple bots will battle amongst themselves as well as any number of human players. For more information on what exactly Rbots is, please visit the Rbots home page: http://rbots.massassi.net.

Etc. -
I made a few small updates to the main page this morning. First off, SavageX's link has been removed. Second, I removed the MPG games listing due to the fact that the MPG isn't being used very often. I'm considering reprogramming the IP board scripts. With the new version, it would allow you to select any level/mod in our archives before you start the game. The problem is the fact that I don't want to spend the time programming something that nobody will use. If you have any input, please post it on this thread.
Level Designer Interview Part 3 -
Fragland has posted part 3 of their level designers interview. Today they talk with Mike "Oz" Schulenberg, designer of Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (Raven Software), and Warren Marshall, from Epic Games.

Brad McQuaid Interview -
Blue's News announced that RPGVault has recently conducted an interview with Brad McQuaid, producer over at Verant Interactive (the developers working on Star Wars Online). Great bit of reading regarding massively multiplayer online role-playing games.
Millennium Completes Mod Collection -
Millennium has updated its site, completing the Jedi Knight Mod Collection. It's a script that lets you sort and browse through the mods that harbor at Millennium. A more complete MotS collection is soon to come, so be prepared.
Thanks Outpost D-34.
Thanks Outpost D-34.
Level Designer Interview Part 2 -
Fragland has posted part 2 of their level designers interview (mentioned yesterday).
Morpheus II Removed -
The JKMP level released yesterday entitled Morpheus II has been deleted. When you create a level, please make sure you don't steal other authors works or names, and before submitting it, please make sure it's finished.
