Description: This is a Jedi Knight multiplayer level based on the facility in the James Bond movie, Goldeneye. It looks much like the Nintendo 64 multiplayer level, but with some slight modifications. Find the switch to both the back door and the forcefield behind it and you will be ready to rumble. This level is good for 2-6 players.

Description: This a large level that is supposedly a listening station for the Rebel Alliance that is run by holograms, with holo technology so advanced you can actually walk INTO the screens and inspect approaching ships firsthand. You are an inspector, and you've come to survey the station's work and findings for the customary five minutes. Instead of that, you find the station deserted, the main generators dead. The only holograms you can access are the recreational ones. Then you see the Imperial fleet in the distance and know that you only have a little time to get ready for them before they arrive. You begin to hoard weapons, when you realize the other inspectors are doing the same...
This level has a large hangar connected to the strangest control room you'll have ever seen, and extruding from the hangar are long, winding hallways that eventually lead to large refresher stations, a holographic chamber with two buttons, and a briefing room. Note that the left red button activates a program I like to call "Cosmic Being", in which you are huge in size comparison to Imperial starships and you walk over Darth Vader's Executor in deep space. The other activates a program I like to call "Don't Look Down", in which there are five platforms in deep space, where you fight with your opponents. Note that if you fall off either the Executor or a platform in the holodeck, you will not die, as this IS a holodeck. You will simply be transported back to the main room. You can only be killed by other players in the holodeck, not of natural causes. I tried to make the architecture decent, as I'm not the best at such things. Please enjoy!

We here at DayLong JK (not a clan or the such) are hosting a Day of JK. Basically, we run a single game of Jedi Knight for people to join in and out. We run basic LEC levels with no mods or hacks. Tommorow (7/6/01) is our first day. Check http://www.massassi.org/daylongjk/ (hosted by our friend Brian of Massassi) for more details including how to join and what to bring.

Description: I wasn't going to release this, but I noticed that a few people were still wanting to play it, so I did. RadsCTF is my first attempt at a CTF. Also, I made this 6 months ago so don't be harsh on the comments... It's main focus is gameplay and nothing else. Designed to be small and should only be for 3-4 players and No Force. Enjoy!

Description: During the war started by invaders from another galaxy, one planet, which was located in the Outer Rim Territories, was attacked without mercy. The Yuuzhan Vong took their moon, Dobido, out of orbit, and was caught in Sernpidal's gravitational pull. Chewbacca, who saved Han Solo's son, died here, with the locals of Sernpidal who refused to leave, who spent their last minutes praying to their god.
This level takes place on Sernpidal during this crisis. With many different levels of moving around, it's hard to use sniping points without getting shot yourself. Look for the invisible water secret: with it you will either plummet to your death, or find an arsenal of weapons for your insanely violent pleasure.

Description: This is a medium-sized level that is supposed to be an abandoned underground Imperial prison connected to a nearby volcano. There is a central hub that leads in 5 directions. The story is that a nearby volcano released bad air into the prison and everyone died. One way goes toward the volcano. The volcano slowly damages your health because of the heat, and if you go into the lava you die. 2 other ways lead to single cells reserved for dangerous criminals (the only ones) which are connected by an even more underground passageway. Another way leads to a jammed door. If you crouch under it you come to the force field control room and the temporary quarters. The last way leads to a stretch of cells with political prisoners in them. Note that these are not AI. Like I said, everybody's supposed to be dead. Therefore, I saved the 3dos I wanted and inserted them again under a different name... only this time as walkstruct 3dos so they lie still. I surrounded them with pools of blood because the bad air supposedly caused them to hemorrhage. One other note, I was thinking about releasing a saber version, then changed my mind, and that's why it has a Guns at the end. Enjoy!

Description: This is a large level with terriffic frame rate and game lag, with some rather beautiful examples of tomb like lighting and cleaving specifically designed to enhance game play challenges, and decrease game lag and improve the framerate. The level is made up of 6 basic parts: a main hall, a pool area, a hanger, a gun room, a sabers room, and a control room.

For release, they've posted an editorial entitled Exploring the Possibilities, in which Juz reaches deep into his imagination to bring you his opinion of what Star Wars Galaxies could, and should, be like. Second, a top ten 'rejected names' list has been posted, as well as some scans out of a recent PC Gamer regarding SWG.
All in all, it's a great site headed up by some great people (Juztyn, Archimedes, Kedri...). It's definitely worth a visit if you're even remotely interested in SWG. Be sure to drop by the forums as well.
We require that the banner is of this size: width:384, and length:154 and that it says Jedi Outcast on it. All submissions will be sent to Jdogg@thejedioutcast.com, thank you and start working!
Well, it sounds great. Be sure to check it out .
I am hosting a gun modeling workshop for JK/MotS tonight at 7:30 EST in #gunning on Massassi's chat server. Show up if you'd like to make relatively low-face models that still look good. I plan on holding several sessions, this will focus mainly on the models themselves. The next lesson may focus on texturing guns. For some examples, go to http://www.massassi.org/generalramos/lineup4.jpg
To join this tonight, connect to the chat and type /join #gunning and you'll be in the chat.

So far, LucasArts seems to have made all the right decisions with JKII. They have chosen a talented and highly experienced developer in Raven, and there are also strong signs that the company's rather aloof community relations policy is beginning to be gradually phased out. So far, so good.Be sure to stop by JediKnightII.net and read the whole article.
So why stop there?
One of the biggest issues surrounding Jedi Outcast is editability. Will it be allowed? How editable will the engine be? Will editing tools be packaged with it? Not to forget the most intriguing question in my mind: if the game is editable....just how massive could its editing community become?

Description: This is a somewhat large level, very open and good for sniping/saber battles. There is a pond area, city area, cantina (just for fun), and a waterfall leading into a pond. There are many secrets and a few cool new cogs. This level works best with DBZ 3.0, but works just fine without it. I'm going to be making some new cogs and update it with them later this summer.

Description: This level is a small area of the city of Thegue, about the same size as my previous level. It is small, and I suggest that you play it with at least 2 players, but no more than 3 or 4. Force Jump is required, Force Speed is optional. This is my second level, so if you have played the first, I hope that you will see the improvements that I have made.

Description: This is a large level meant to resemble a spaceport. It has catwalks, landing pads, various space ships and vehicles, a cantina, a healing station, and a good variety of guns. Since it is so large I would recommend that it be played with 4 or more players but 2 could be fun also. You may recognize the level from the original LEC single player missions, level 14, I think. I felt that this would be good to use because of its great architecture and its looks. This is the second level I have released so comments are appreciated.

Description: - Lightsabers are partially transparent with a flickering effect and light motion blur. Looks much more like the movies! - Ten lightsaber colors to choose from in-game - Lightsaber moves are quicker, damage is much more balanced, and length of damage possibility during attacks is maximized - Blocking now features light motion trails and saber movement sounds - You can block other lightsabers more often while attacking with your lightsaber - Switch your lightsaber off quickly with the Lightsaber Switch, and then hold the lightsaber in your hand until you press the activation switch again, attack, throw the saber, or change weapons - Lightsaber ignites more quickly - Cool new lightsaber holding stance - Stab by pushing Forward or Backward + Fire 2 + Slow or Duck, or Forward + Fire 2 while jumping - Utilize fast circular swings by moving the mouse sharply left or right and pressing Fire 1 - Saber moves have higher priority, so don't worry about them messing up while jumping or using force anymore - Choose from a ton of great Jedi skins from various eras of Star Wars history for all MotS personalities - New lightsaber and character sound/voice effects - Evade in eight directions - perform a forward jedi flip, back handspring, or roll to get yourself out of a bind - Knock enemies away by performing powerful hook kicks regardless of what weapon you have in your hand - Force Saber Throw is improved tenfold: faster, better-looking, appropriate sounds - Lasers hurt Single Player enemies MUCH more - instead of it taking like 2-10 shots to kill, it's now 1-3 - All saber models feature a new, more-detailed saber handle - New saber powerup model (exactly the same handle as the one you see in your hand) - Laser and lightning models also feature Star Wars movie-like glowing effects - Force Push now pushes everyone in sight - including droids - Force Jump now serves several functions: press Force Jump while rising and perform a flip that gives you an extra boost of velocity, and press Force Jump while falling to slow down and prevent damage. Also, it no longer makes your right hand and weapon disappear, although there's no more sparkly thingies - Targeting force powers are modified so that targeting itself isn't delayed. In other words, you can instantly pull guns from multiple enemies in rapid succession and instantly target someone to blind, grip, or fry with chain lightning - Force Grip costs more mana, since it's so powerful even in its otherwise unmodified state - Force Defense is now 25% damage protection per star set, and likelihood of defense against grip is 25% chance per star - Dark Mara (outside the Sith Temple and in add-on levels) is no longer cheap with chain lightning - Textures in levels don't blur until you're really far away - IR Goggles turn off appropriately after falling down a pit with them on and respawning - Force Destruction now displays an icon on the screen like the other force powers. Just a nice, small touch :> - Look for the JK version of SBX soon

Recently, Millennium had a major internal upgrade. There is nothing actually added but got revamped in terms of scripts that build up the site. Here's the rundown:
- Spiffier look here and there!
- Every single CGI script has been revised for better performance.(Past news search, whole site search, poll, statistics, forum, etc.)
- Totally rewrote about myself in the members page.
- Updated plan once in 50 years...
- The page is print friendly (if anybody actually does that...)
The forum, site search and downloads are yet to be fully functional, and I'll get to it as soon as my term exams are over in a week or so. So visit and look at it!
I am hosting session two of the Gun Modeling workshop for JK/MotS Sunday at 9:15 EST in #gunning. Show up if you'd like to make relatively low-face models that still look good. We will be finishing up work on our Skiff Guard Pistol. You will need to download the JED file if you missed the first session or left early. Get it here. For some examples, click here and look at some of the models I've done. I hope to see many of you there. To join, just use our chat page and when you're in type /join #gunning.

Description: Pretty small level with a Tower as its centerpiece, can probably accomodate about 6-8 players best. The Tower, which sits in the middle of an open valley (or something to that effect) was once the meeting place of the Jedi Council, and now many jedi have returned to vie for its power. Best used with FF, contains all weapons for JK and has one main open area, probably no good for saber dueling. Enjoy.

Also, on a more positive note, you will NOT get a checksum failure if you decide to run this mod by yourself and the host doesn't. I think you'll be pleasently surprised by how this mod turned out.

Description: This is a single-play or net-play patch for Jedi Knight. The name says it all. There are a few errors, nothing big: (1) the name of the weapons are screwed up, (2) the names of some multiplayer skins are skrewed up, and (3) don't bother trying to use the kick and the grappling hook because it won't work, but the third thing will. Thankfully, this is BFP2 compatible.

- JK Deathmatch Levels only (no ctf or other levels with modified gameplay)
- 8-bit mats only in the main pack - levels will be judged on 8-bit mats, but if enough people want it, we will release a 16-bit mat pack to overwrite the 8-bit mats (must be network-compatible which I think excludes skyboxes)
- No modifications to JK gameplay, weapons, skins, or models - this is a level contest, not a skin, model, or other type of contest
- Only new, non-released levels will be accepted - no modifications of LEC levels, either
- Deadline: probably about a month and a half from today - more details and a specific date later
- Judge information will be released on a later date
- No work derived from other games or levels will be accepted!
This will be the last Massassi Level Pack for Jedi Knight/MotS, and I look forward to seeing what all you editors come up with!

RAL_Thrawn: LucasArts seems to be trying to establish a better dialogue with the fan community. Are their plans to support editing communities for new releases such as Outcast and Galaxies? And even for games such as Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith? There's also a few more questions/answers pertaining to Jedi Outcast so you may want to take a look.
Simon Jeffery: Thanks for noticing our new efforts with regard building and supporting our community. We appreciate everyone's enthusiasm. LucasArts is diligently working toward accommodating the desires of our fans to allow for a greater level of interaction with our Star Wars games and original titles. We can't provide any specific details right now, but you'll be hearing more about our plans very soon. We think you'll be happy when we roll out news about it.

The objective of the development team was to capture the look and feel of the movies, and they've certainly portrayed it as accurately as we've ever seen in a game. Lightsabers leave trails as they flash through the air. Battles are fast and furious with Jedis blocking each other's strikes with amazing accuracy -- and poly-to-poly collision support means that the lightsabers hit exactly as they should when you're in the middle of a frenzied exchange, and also promise to cut down on those annoying clipping problems that we're so used to. There are also body-specific hits, so if you tag your opponent in the leg, he's likely to acquire a nasty limp -- that is if you don't cut the leg completely off, a fate we saw befall a few unlucky Stormtroopers who happened to get in Kyle's way.
GalacticBattles.com is the first joint-effort between the LucasGames Network, MixnMojo.com, and The Massassi Temple. More information on this partnership will be released as time goes on, but don't be surprised if links to those sites and their network pop up around here.
