Posted: 2004-09-10 6:57 p.m.   Report Abuse That they do, and the textures are terrible. Almost as bad as that InuYasha skin pack's textures. Note of advice: Don't do skins directly off of Anime. Revamp their clothing to give it a more video gameish feel, or at least say to use a cel-shade mod of some type. These skins look very out of place in levels like Taspir.

As for this mod, it looks like any other animé to me, which is a bad thing. I won't bother rating it - sorry.

:D LoL, anyways, so you are saying any anime skin is destined to fail? Thanks for the critiscm everyone who gave it, I will add texture to the clothing in the next version(s).

Posted: 2004-09-13 3:31 p.m.   Report Abuse Well, that's why I didn't rate it. I think a good model needs good textures, but it can't have good textures if it's supposed to look like animé. I can't help but base the skin because it's animé, since it IS animé, and since my personal opinion is that animé is stupid. Animé probably originated as a cheap way out for artists that couldn't actually draw - kind of like modern art - and now it has begun infesting the gaming world with cel-shading, which I see as a cheap way out for editors that can't make textures (of course, this model isn't cel-shaded, it just has texture-less textures).

Is an animé skin destined to fail, you ask? Yeah, in my opinion.. Heh, even if you make it look like animé, that doesn't mean it looks good.. Anyway, I'll stop ranting. :-P

Posted: 2004-09-14 5:21 p.m.   Report Abuse Is that supposed to be sarcasm? Sorry if you think my comments are out of context. If you want me to elaborate and give constructive criticism then I will, although it will probably only make you angry. Here's what I think:

Try making your models have better textures next time. Put depth into them instead of just making them solid colors. Also, their hair should be less jagged and also have more texture on it. Finally, that second guy's eyes make him look like he's really scared or something.. perhaps they should be a little smaller?..

But that's just my opinion. ;-)

Posted: 2007-08-06 5:34 a.m.   Report Abuse Hey, I take offense to that last comment. I think I did a much better job at texturing than the skins in this pack. While mine aren't the greatest, at least I made an attempt to shade them properly. The colors in this skin pack are too flat IMO.
