Story:
WEll basically story wise its about well dull but who really cares about the story im more of a gameplay guy myself.
Eye Candy:
This level shines and doesn't have the fancy eyecandy and such in fact no new textures same old ship textures and the architexture is basically boxy throughout the level. Though there are some great colors and flashes in the level so its not completely dull.
Sound:
no new sounds or such except for the voice acting, which though needed some more effects (sounded like a 12 year old girl was doing the voice over) as well as more rehersing for a cleaner sound. Of course i would rather get strange voice acting then non what so ever.
Gameplay:
This is where the level makes up for everything. It goes to basics right here, by doing the simple labrynth fomula. Find a key or disable a force field then run a guantlet of baddguys the rooms to destroy the outlets and such. This goes back to old-school like gaming in fact all the way back to old Adventure games on the NES, in fact it could have really been like a NES game if they added more platforming but there isn't (no platforming at all). Its a simple one man army attacks dozens of storm troopers but they threw in some other types of enemies to keep you busy like remotes and 2 modified enemies. 1 being a floating platform that acts like a remote only shooting really powerful bolts and blasters don't hurt it. The 2nd one was a droid that dropped mines, sure they didn't use knew models for the enemies but i don't really think they needed too.
This is action packed all the way and it took me about 45 minutes to beat, its a nice romp and im looking foward to the next. I just hope they make the AI a little tougher or beef up the weapons a bit, i found this a bit on the easy side as well as get rid of most of the powerups there were just way too many shield power-ups making the level even easier.
P.S. WHO is that doing the voice acting, you can barely hear it?
lots of fun, well done
