Rbots 0.21 Released - Brian @ 11:07 AM
Rbots version 0.21 has been released! If you don't know what Rbots are, you really, really need to go visit the site and read about them. Here's the short version.
Rbots is a project to create a 'bot' for Jedi Knight. A bot is a computer controlled player for multiplayer games. It should react and play just like a human player - it has health, shields, limited ammo & weapons and when it dies it will 'respawn' to allow the game to continue. Multiple bots will battle amongst themselves as well as any number of human players.
You can find all the fixes and changes on the Rbots page. Big thanks to the folks in the chat room for tipping me off.

Forum Email Working - Brian @ 3:40 AM
Okay, I have just re-activated the email confirmation on the forums. If you register a new nickname, you will be required to insert a valid email address so you can get your password emailed to you. Along with this, you can now look up forgotten passwords and such. Note: the reason this wasn't done sooner is because I had to do a whole bunch of custom programming to force the UBB software to use the massassi.net smtp server...

    New Obi-Wan Interview - Brian @ 8:05 AM
Nextgame.it has posted a new interview with Lucasarts' Stephen Shaw regarding Obi-Wan. There are screenshots as well. Here is a small sample:
Nextgame.it: Tell us something about the multiplayer aspect of the game, we have heard news about a mode called Protect The Queen and about a cooperative mode too.

Stephen Shaw: Protect the Queen will be a team game in which the players will divide themselves into two sides, the Federation and Sith, and the Naboo guard and Jedi. The Jedi / Naboo will have to escort safely escort the queen to a location to score. The game can also be reversed so that the Trade Federation / Sith must escort a Nemoidian to a location in order to score. There won't be a way to cooperatively play the single player missions, so the cooperative aspect will be limited mostly to PTQ and possible some other MP missions. We are developing additional multiplayer levels beyond these two as well.
The Massassi Level Contest #3 - Brian @ 7:34 AM
That's right folks, it's that time again! I am very pleased to announce the official commencement of the Massassi Temple Level Contest #3. Weren't here for the last one? Let me explain.

We accept JK MP level submissions from anyone that wants to submit them (for the contest). These submissions are sent out to the judges (judging list is yet to be announced - it will consist of some of the staff members of Massassi as well as quite a few well-known members of the JK community). The levels that win (the number depends on the number of high-quality submissions) will be compiled into an official level pack that will be showcased on our main page for the rest of our existence (see the level packs 1 & 2 above).

If you plan to submit a level, please read the rules and follow the instructions. The deadline is November 10th, 2000, which gives you ONE MONTH. Good luck!
