Big Star Wars Online News - Juztyn @ 3:44 PM
Wow. It's been it while, but there's finally some news from Verant and LucasArts concering the Massively Multiplayer Online game they announced earlier this year. Check out the official press release:
LucasArts Announces Star Wars Galaxies as Online Game Series' Brand Name

To Launch Official Information Site With Sony Online Entertainment

www.starwarsgalaxies.com To Launch November 30

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 2000--LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC today announced Star Wars® Galaxies(TM) as the formal series brand name for their massively multiplayer online role-playing games. On November 30 LucasArts, in conjunction with Sony Online Entertainment Inc., will launch the game's official information site, www.starwarsgalaxies.com.

The Star Wars Galaxies Web site will debut with three active community relations message boards and a list of frequently asked questions fielded by the game's development team. Each message board will provide a forum for feedback to and from the Star Wars Galaxies' team in the following areas: A General Discussion Board for all game-related issues, a Developers Board for game development queries, and a Role Playing Board for "in character'' discussion.

"We see this Web site as an important step toward building a strong community for the Star Wars Galaxies line of games," says Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. "We firmly believe that consistent and open communication with fans will be one of the keys to the success of the Star Wars Galaxies experience."

"We're thrilled to provide Star Wars fans and the Station's users with a forum that will generate enthusiasm for the game," says Kelly Flock, president of Sony Online Entertainment. "This is one way fans can be involved in the creative process of developing the highly anticipated Star Wars Galaxies online series of games."

The Star Wars Galaxies game series is being developed by Verant Interactive, a division of Sony Online Entertainment, and will be distributed and sold at retail by LucasArts and available for play exclusively online at The Station@sony.com ( www.station.sony.com ). The game is expected to go into first round testing in late 2001.

New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Acid Storage Facility - Juztyn @ 7:21 PM
File: Acid Storage Facility
Author: MaDaVentor
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A smallish level designed mostly for saber battles. It takes place in an Acid Storage Facility. With catwalks, and curving halls, it should provide plenty of fast fun gameplay, along with some nice eye candy. I hope you like it!

Editor's Note: This level missed the MLP3 by inches, so if you're looking for a quality sabering level, this is it.
New Reviews @ TACC - Ryan @ 7:13 PM
The Admiral's Command Chamber has updated with two new level reviews for your reading pleasure. A bunch of other reviews are in progress and should be appearing later this week, so be sure to visit the site frequently to stay updated!

Contest Winners Announced! - Brian @ 3:19 PM
The contest winners were announced, and they can be found here. Congratulations to all who submitted levels - the contest was very close, as there were a ton of great submissions. I have emailed the winners with the bug reports, so as soon as they finish up, I will compile the pack and release it. I'm guessing Friday, don't hold me to that, though!

Please Note: We will not be conducting manual recounts. We feel the original count and the machine recount were accurate. If you disagree, please go to Florida and protest.

Contest Update - Brian @ 8:46 PM
I have received all the reports from the judges. I will be contacting the winners tomorrow about fixing the few small bugs we found in their levels (I think this is a better approach than releasing a pack with bugs in it - I'm sure there will still be a few, but hopefully not as many). I'm not exactly sure how long this will take, as it depends on the authors. Expect some of the levels that didn't make it to start showing up tomorrow...

File: ApoK Furor Heights
Author: ApoK_DragonPhinn , ApoK_FlipMoeJack
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Furor Heights is your standard deathmatch, catering to players of all Force inclinations. The small level is perfect for 2-4 gunning or sabering, with just enough power-ups to keep things interesting.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Stargate - Kedri @ 2:47 PM
File: Stargate
Author: JK_addict
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Designed after the movie Stargate (not the TV show). Layout is based mostly on screenshots from the DVD. Activate the gate and then run through it and you'll be taken to a faraway land. Guns/sabers. Best with at least some Jump, Speed and Seeing. Player starts with NO weapons, kinda like GoldenEye.
New MotS Single Player Level: Battleground Sith Preview - Kedri @ 2:44 PM
File: Battleground Sith Preview
Author: Rhettman
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A preview of Sith Ruins from the upcoming Continuing Adventures of Mara Jade. A showcase of eye candy, featuring great architecture and amazing 16-bit mats. Please note, this is a saber duel level, and gameplay is nowhere near as intense as in the final release...
