Checkers

The Massassi Temple » Levels/Mods » Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level » Checkers

Description

This level lets you play Checkers with other people in Jedi Knight. The life-sized checkerboard is located in an elegant marble room, and the Checker pieces are made of solid silver and gold. There is also a one-way watching area for observers, slightly elevated at the side of the level.

To play a game of Checkers with someone, simply press the Spacebar to grab the Checker piece. After you move the piece, press the Fieldlight (F2) to drop it.

There are many spare pieces and King pieces on the sides. Also, there is a reset button on both sides of the Checker board. When the game is over, you can press the reset button to reset the Checker pieces. Anyone who objects to the resetting should press the reset button within 10 seconds to cancel the resetting.

Please note that this level does not require a mod. Level cogs are already included with the level. There is also a Text document included that explains the basic rules of Checkers.

I just wanted to add that this level is best played with low lag. There can be slight sync problems if it is too laggy or if there are too many players.

Nice Level and yes if there is lag it does cause it to have some effect on the gameplay. But i wont rate it less because of that, just dont get to many people in the level at once.

My Rating 10/10

Well, Junky asked me to rate it, so here I am. -_-

It's pretty good, the only thing tho is that I thought he was gonna actually make the level cogs "aware" of the rules and stop you from making illegal moves, only going when it's your turn, automatically taking jumped pieces out of play, etc. But this is good.

The pieces are good, and the board and surrounging area are sufficient. The Reset function is cool.

Rating: 9/10 (Nothing is perfect.)

Very cool, I tested it but don't played it multiplayer...

I think it would be much more great if you had created a cog that does all automatically, like the piece dissapear if the other team have passed a piece above it. But I know it would have take too much time.

Very good idea, I will like to play that with my friends!

My rating: 10/10

I have to disagree with you on that note. You say that you want level cogs to make it so you can only move when it's your turn. Well, in real life, when people play checkers or chess, people do cheat. They move their piece when you're not looking at the board. This gives it a life-like feel. Hopefully, you'd be playing with someone who respects the game and its rules.
