A small arena where Jedi come to sharpen their skills with the lightsaber and the Force. It's my first-ever level for Outcast, so I hope it makes the cut. Enjoy!

Thanks for the positive remarks guys. As this is my first-ever level for JO, I didn't know if it would be good enough for the Massassians. But it apparently pleased you two, and hopefully it will please others as well. I'm already working on a sequel (Arena of Fire II), which will be larger and hopefully just plain better than this one! Yeah...I had fooled around in Radiant and made some little crappy levels, but then I put all my energy to this project, and this was the result. However, I couldn't have done it without help and advice from my friends and some good, helpful Massassians on the forums.

Im suprised this is getting a good rateing, Not that it's bad or anything, looks great. But people have a habbit of seeing First level and saying it sucks without even looking at it.

This actually is my first level for JO, but not for everything. I had made a level for MotS a while back called Mercenary Complex. I released two versions, and now that I look back, I agree with the people who said it sucked. Well, it didn't completely suck, it was good for gameplay, but everything else was horrible. And for some reason, version 1 got a 7, while version 2 got a 4. I don't know why, since version 2 had everything version 1 had, plus a lot more!

Anyway, enough about the past. I'll probably be continuing work on Arena of Fire II later today, after I help my friend get some work done on his Galactic Battlegrounds website (http://blackhole.at/echobase). I'm splitting my time between JO and GB, but I don't think it'll interfere too much with the creation of AoF 2.

Well done. I would suggest that your next level shouldn't be just a box with lots of pillars. Play with some more of the actual building instead of just putting stuff inside it. :)

Nice fire effects... i gave it a 9 cuz i cannot do fire effects lol... on the line of me not being able to do fire effects... how do you do em?

Heh heh. Remember my comment on how the fire wasn't damaging your character in the Showcase Forum? Is it damaging in this level? For realism's sake anyway.

Sorry Hard Driver, but the fire doesn't hurt you. However, in Arena of Fire II, which is currently in production, it will.

Oh yeah...and here's how you do the fire, which I learned from a helpful Massassian named Llawnroc...

To make a fire brush (torch) try the following (Using JKRadiant):
Create a FX_RUNNER entity where you want it to go.

Bring up the properties of the entity by pressing N

Enter a key of fxFile with a value of effects/env/small_fire.efx

And that's it, remember if you've extracted the PK3 file then remove the path until you get the above. Just remember to give it something to burn on!!

Oh yeah...and there are two fire types, small_fire.efx and fire.efx. In AoF I used fire.efx. Hope that helped

I think this level is just plain great. It has interesting fire effects (a great backdrop while playing), great lighting in a very good night sky, and good places to duel (i.e., pillars (love the ones that break!) and the platforms (especially the jump pad route). It looks cool, and is a great duel level. I can't wait for the sequel!

Man, I am completely surprised about how many people love my level! I thought it was good, and so did my beta testers, but I didn't think it would do this good! Massassi can be a tough community, but apparently I've either gotten the untough crowd, or I actually made a good level!

Anyway, progress on AoF 2 is going along smoothly. It will feature both above-ground and below-ground dueling areas, both of which will be larger than the original AoF. I'll post some screenshots in the Showcase Forum in a few days once I get some good work done of the level.

Uh..SecretSam, it's a duel level. The description 'small arena' and the screenshots which confirm that could have told you that. But, uh...have a nice day anyway...I guess.

AWESOME level. The screenshots show how good it is. Heres a suggustion for AOF-2, green fire for under ground, but it's your level not mine so make it like you want it. (exscuse the spelling please)
