This is a map I made for Elite Force that I've converted to Jedi Knight 2. It has kindly been rendered for me by those chaps at Ravenssoft until JO radiant comes out. This map will be part of a MUCH bigger Cloud City map later this year with the Falcon that you can walk inside which is being made by my friend [XG]Darth Vader.

Note to all: read the help file in the zip.
Put the PK3 file into your base dir of JO.
It's really nice. Makes that damned JO FFA a lot more fun.
1. Fix the funky colored sticks that result when breaking those two objects.
2. Change many of the textures, such as the Carbo Freeze floor with the red glowpanels, the textures on the big open shaft, to the ones in JO, or, the ones more commonly seen in JO.
3. Add fog to the Carbo Freeze area, it woudl create an awesome effect and mood!
4. Add red light to the Carb area.
5. Add a functioning carbon freezer like the one in MotS (would take some work, might not be worth it).
6. Add the machine/computer-like hum to the envirnment, just like in the movie, to create a more moody admosphere.
7. Any other enhancements one could think of...
Again, those are just suggestions for the future when the SDK is released. But like I said, great level! Much better than the original JO carb freeze level.

You even included that depressurisation when you break the window (in movie and MotS)
Very nice work, gave it a 9 -would've been a 10 if you had made your own map (this allready done in MotS)
Just one thing, Im trying to load the map into singleplayer so i can spawn some guys to fight on the gantry (much better than Bots)but i get error message.... ERROR Missing 1 sound sets.!

First of all it's too laggy.
Secondly I won on jedi master skill with 15 to -2, -2, -3, -7, -12, -13, -14.

But what's up with those red\blue\green fragments when you break that gantry window thing?
Anyway...a great level and the first addon JO MP level released, so I'll give it a 9!

There were some annoying niggles in this level, and whilst I can't rerate it, I'll give it a seven here and now.
Yes, it looks lovely, yes it's a very good representation of a damn fine level, but it is let down by:
Bots that are clearly making a bid to fly.
XYZ lines on breakable parts.
Elite Force and even WATER sound effects when you step on some consoles.
Weird carbon chamber textures (the JO ones are quite adequate in my view) and no coloured lighting in that area.
I know I'm being hard hitting and critical and that I couldn't make a level to save my life, but it's just annoying when things like this stop this good level from being a GREAT level.
Of course it's early days and the full Cloud City version that we are being promised could well rock. But this is a level I can't play. The bots don't work, and it would be just too laggy online with the huge open areas outside.
Not terrible, not bad, just good, but not overly excellent as I was expecting it to be.
Keep up the good work though and I look forward to the next release. Hopefully with a full on JORadiant behind it, it should work better! What's here IS good, but it doesn't feel quite finished.
First off, remember when Luke gets sucked into the venting system after Vader tells him aabout their relation? You should put that in, being sucked in there, and just die or someting. It just makes it more intresting than falling to the floor.
Second, the bit where you break the window? Make it so someone gets sucked out if they get too near everytime, not just when you break it. And don't make it as powerful. You go zooming over to the other side of the arena, making the platform below it useless.
EDIT: Oh, yeah. Like the guy above said, use the orginal carbon chamber textures in SP. Looks much better that way. And does the freezing actually work? I can see the cracks for where the thing opens, but when I press the button, nothing happens. Does someone have to be standing on it? I'll have to try it.
All in all, it's a pretty kickin' level. Good job. Gave it an 8.

I wish I could comment on this level but I have yet to buy a copy of JO. By the screenshots though, it looks like a good level. I'm impressed that someone managed to create a JO level without the SDK. Anyhow, once I get JO, I'll rate this level.

but yes the level looks good from screen shots, havent downloaded it yet, w/ my 56k it will probably take half an hour or more just for something of that size. If the new version of this has those suggestions above put into it though, i think that it would be worth all the time to download.
This level is good, however, everyone is giving it FAR too much credit.
There are many bugs and it could be much better, do not overrate a map just because it is the first one to come out.

i was going to use the carbon room texture for the floor but in the end just used the ones for the stairs because
1. their textures didnt fit ???
2. they are no where near the same as in the movie
ive compared them to a screenshot i took and laughed till i fell off my chair HAHA even told the ravens bloke this and he agreed.......
Dont worry though i shall add that floor light of mine to a decent texture and make it glow

Yeah; he decided to contact me for some reason, I'm just a newbie to this site. Where are e-mail addresses listed? Anyways, I fulfilled the wish of the creator so please give me some respect ;).
1) The window everyone's talking about bugs me too. XYZ lines scare me :)
2) The outside (in the freezing chamber?). There's a ledge that one gets to by falling down a shaft...there's gonna be other ways to get there, right?
3) item clumps
4) and the stairwell is really to big and clunky.

Texturing was ok, but I did see quite a few mis-alignments.
When I played against Bots, all they did was jump around. Weird, I know, buts it's true.
But on the plus side, the expansive areas to explore were quite nice, not to mention visually stunning. Very atmospheric as well. I thought I was watching Empire Strikes Back, the interactive version.
Its really too bad that Force throw was not implemented in this game, and Darth Vader and Bespin Skywalker were omitted as well.
I give this a 5 because of such a HUGE oversite...hopefully it won't be hard to correct. The level design is awesome though. Really huge. Just PLEASE correct that oversite and it'll be a DEFINATE ten.

Now that JKIIRadiant is out hopefully it won't be long till the BIGGER level comes out. (can't even imagine. This level is big)
Firstly, the graphics are only so - so, especially the chamber itself. I think if you add more graphic quality to the level it will be much better. In other words, instead of adding the rest of cloud city, expand upon this level.
Secondly, i feel claustraphobic in this level, perhaps a good think to do would be to 'up the scale' a bit.
Thirdly, the level feels a bit overly simplistic, and while it's true to the movie in some ways, i think you should watch the movie again and try to emulate it better. I know that's tough, but i think this level woudl be just awesome if the shapes were more clearly defined. You know, go through it and add another step up in terms of detail. These things matter
Fourthly, I felt that the design of the chamber was wierd. Even in the movie i thought that, but now i'm confused. In the movie, you dont see the walls of the chamber, you see a bloe glow. Things like that, or the window really add effect. You could add depth to the 'pit', and maybe make it so that 'movie' stuff can happen easier. Script stuff, that sort of thing so that you can actually progress through the level as our characters in the movie did.
Lastly, I think it was an ambitious project, and that this level is great but needs some work, and so i would suggest now that the software is available, going through and 'expanding to it, so that you have 'more options' and the level is less liniar.
i think it's a great level, however, and i'm critiquing you by professional standards, so don't hear me saying it's bad, but i think you could really blast the pants off of people with just a little more work.

If i place a mesh down the shaft that has the invisble SLIP texture then aim it towards the hole luke is sucked into. I can then make people slide into that hole =]]]

The Main shaft is 1 huge mother , i mean big as in you can fit 4 ctf_bespins into it sideways and it is the height of the whole jk2radiant drawing area so takes 20 seconds to fall from the very top =]]
FPS for me was 90 so now slowdown from it either WOOHOO =]
