Description
Achieve balance with a lightsaber—the strongest and most simple Jedi weapon. Fight with finesse using a lightstaff—nearly as strong as the lightsaber yet twice as deadly. Fend off opponents from afar with an extended saber—twice as much range as a lightsaber although the least powerful. Whichever weapon you choose, remember that a Jedi's spirit lies not within the weapon, but within oneself.

If the fun has gone from JK, this injects it right back in there.
This is a MUST HAVE for anyone with an interest in authentic Star Wars action.
I'd give it an 11/10 but the system doesn't allow it. So 10/10.
This mod I consider the saviour of Jedi Knight.

the lightstaff is held correctly, instead of being held dramatically close to the privates
The lightsabers don't need to be swung to cause damage.
Don't get me wrong Savage X is also a great mod/level maker but give credit where its due.
When you walk backwards and twirl the double bladed lightsaber, everything on your right arm, elbow down twirls. It's as if his right arm, elbow down, is not connected.
The hands were black. Why? Just curious.
My Force power seemed to drain fast, even when I wasn't using the Force. I would go get Force points or whatever, and it woulnd't help because it drained instantly. This happened in level 13 (it started out ok, but around half way into the level, it went down hill.)
But this is still a 10. And one of the few mods I will keep on my PC. Excellent, excellent mod. If anyone gives this below a 7, they deserve to be shot.
By the way - what's the name of the level where the above screenshots were taken?

my only beef w/ this version is that you have to find the lightstaff, in DOTF SE its kinda hard to find one.
An obvious 10! It's not about normal sabering vs. SBX sabering, it's about mundane stick fighting vs. the way sabering should truely be.
P.S.: Start including these in single player levels, all of you out there.
When I first saw the mod was out I was..yes..excited. I looked at the screenshots..became even more excited and..hopeful. For one the sabers looked sweet. Second..the skin. I was hoping that the skin for single player had been changed to that. Im tired of regular Kyle..hes so boring and in my opinion looks stupid with the cool new sabers. I liked the skin in the pic because he was wearing black robes and looked like a badass. Dont get me wrong this is a kickass mod. One of the best. The moves put the ones in Spork to shame(no offense to the creators of spork. It will always be my favorite). I gave it a ten since it was spectacular. I just wish it had that cool skin in the pics.
This mod will make a lot of people very happy.
1. When using the lightstaff/sithsaber or the long lightsaber, it can get pulled...
2. not really a big thing but... when u cut off ppl's arms, they bleed. is that supposed to happen? a lightsaber's energy blade is supposed to be so hot that blood will get fried so it wont come out...
About that pullness on the staff and long saber - I think it's supposed to do that.
And about the blood? Well a lightsaber actually emits no heat at all, but the energy blade will immediatly cauterize a wound and prevent bleading. In fact, if a guy stood still, and you whiped your saber right through him (this is all hypathetically speaking) chances are he wouldn't fall apart or bleed. The wound would probably recauerize and melt together, and then he would probably die from pain in about 2 seconds :) Anyhow, even if it's not realistic to the SWU, it still looks cool.
The turning on and off is a good idea but it eats so much mana from speed that you have nothing else to do. I sorta liked that it would run out so i could type to others and not worry aout my mana. This also makes deadly sight a great force (maby better then you would have wanted) but hey they gave up force jump.
1 distruction at a full mana bar makes mutli player games so bad since the person with the surge always gets the kills.
With no conc, the gun games are basicly slow moving projectiles while you can avoid things really fast with the kick/evasion button.
BTW the long saber is the best, in ffa's the goal is to have the last hit on someone, so a saber that is pure accuracy is great since you never care about damage there.
1. The most annoying part for me, being a FFer, is the fact that force powers continuously drain mana until you turn them off. VERY annoying.
2. You start out with the Saber, and the Staff, but ya have to find the extended saber. This doesnt bother me much, but it would be nice if you started with em all.
Thats about it. It mightve been nice to have a different sound for the saber cutting through walls, etc, but not needed.

I know the author isn't taking suggestions but like everyone else I'm gonna post em. More blocking WHILE your swinging Somekind of rear block to block swings at your back. An overhead slash and 2 sabers (Although I think you said you can't do it cause of trails?)
Look at the saber x style. There is little or no hype saying how good the mod is. They just bring it out quickly quietly. They hardly ever mention things like new firing animation and other features. 1 More thing replace concuss with lightstaff instead because I really like the bowcaster.
Here is a few things that you should put:
1. Put the extended lightsaber in just like you did with the double bladed saber so you don't have to play a gun level to play a saber game and have people start being cheap with rail det.
2. I know you can turn off the force mana, but when you're playing a big level and you want force speed so you can get there faster instead of turning it off, waiting, turning it back on and then repeating that just to get there so I suggest try to make speed have a single amount of force mana be used like in the regular JediKnight (if possible) but the rest force powers are ok for your modification.
3. Get a few more SW guns to use so that you aren't stuck with the normal JK guns in such an awesome saber mod
4. (not really needed) A new animation on the primary fire of the regular lightsaber would be cool
5. Any chance of a front roll that replaces a weapon like oh say... detonator or strifle?
6. Release more!
That's just my suggestions tho. :)
Just FYI on the blood/lightsaber topic, a lightsaber when it cuts through a body part would most likely not be like the sword in Sleepy Hollow that scorches the cut part and "seal" it up but rather it would probably just do a little scorching so that blood wouldn't exactly fly/squirt (the blood in Episode 1 didn't splatter, it was just an odd gas type of thing) but there would still be blood. Err, I hope that's not too gruesome for anyone.
1.Why are you complaining about gun games? This is SABER Battle X. If you want to play a gun game, don't turn on the patch.
2. About the lightstaff being cheap; it only takes minimal skill to defeat an opponent who uses the same tactics repeatedly. I'm a normal saber user while ShadowX and a lot of the other guys I play with are lightstaff users. It's not cheap, and it can be beaten.
3. Why does everyone pesist in typing suggestions? ShadowX doesn't want to work on this anymore. He's done. He won't implement anything you say. As for double sabers, implementing those would have required multiple versions of every skin and made the mod a HUGE download. And if you thought the lightstaff was cheap...
Just one beef ShadowX, I'm not sure if I'll be able to enjoy Jedi Outcast to its fullest now that you've made JK so good.

Congrats on a great mod, althought the first one had some advantages...10!!!
One of the thing I don't like is that multiplayers gamers use too much lightstaff , but , it's still ok!
The idea of choosing saber colour is good , the movements are good , all is good!

Only some suggestions: (ShadowX(or anyone else), please make a sequel... it's gonna rule!!)
-Drop the extended lightsaber, it's just the same as the normal..
-Put in a twin saber mode (I don't care if the mod's going to be HUGE, if possible, make a weapons patch and skin pack to decrease the file size then)
-Add some sort of toggle for Lightstaff/normal saber..
-Make the bowcaster available again, but leave the conc out...
-Please make a sequel.. I loved this version so much I can cry!!

Don't insult me like that, Mor5ives. So the *only* difference in SBX2 is the lightstaff and extended lightsaber, huh? Have you ever read SBX-JK v2.txt? There's just as many new things listed under v2.0 as there are in v1.0, if not more. Besides, do you think it's easy to make all-new attack animations or something? Damn, why don't I just make a saber that splits in four and screws your pooch, too? By the way, what is the "best of them" to you, anyway?
RANT TO OTHERS: Who else read the SBX-JKv2.txt anyhow? About 60 people have asked me how to do moves and reported known bugs. On another note, I appreciate the [repeated] requests to add things like dual sabers which are twin sabers you hold in each hand, in other words, one normal saber per hand which you can swing using two sabers at once. I also appreciate the requests to use individual sabers you hold seperately in each of your hands, that can be used in *ALL* new *PAINSTAKING* animations that I can slave to make to please you so you can use dual sabers that are also known as twin sabers or one saber per hand. Oh, did I forget to mention using two lightsabers at once? Don't forget the utilization of two sabers for two hands, since you only have two hands to use two sabers. Two sabers. Dual sabers. Twin sabers. Yeah! Make them for me now! Don't forget to make twin sabers!!! I won't be 1337 without those dual SaberZ, biZatCh!! H00X UP a d00d wid some dat twin SabErZ shiznitz, 0k? I like to use twin sabers, please make? Please!? PLEEEEEASSSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Twin sabers would be awesome, MAN!

I've received a ton of positive feedback and kind words by many. Thank you =) I'll try to implement as much as I can for SBX2-MotS, and the likely release of SBX-JK v2.1 to bring it up to par with such new additions. Still, I'm working and schooling now, so it's gonna take a while =(

2. there does need to be some balance between the 3 types of sabers. like for the longer saber, maybe it should cause a bit more damage, but say the ablitly to swing it be a little bit slower, say have it the normal setting for jk.
the double-bladed saber is ok, maybe change the way it moves down a bit, and the reg saber keep it the same. only problem is each time i play ppl with it, everyone seems to use the double-bladed saber. would be nice to see some varation

- It will be better if you could choose skin in single player (similar to changing saber color)it will be cool.
- If you could choose the saber handle would be cool too.

I'm currently working on SBX2-MotS (which I'll port to a 2.1 version for JK). Of course, to see my current and previous progress reports, you can go to www.jedicynosure.com, Commsat, then the SBX board. Anyhow, I do plan on adding Episode I and II skins (aside from Count Dooku, who is already in there). I already know of some great Ep. 2 Anakin and Obi-Wan skins and robeless versions of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon form Ep. 1 that only need a little fix on the geometry (which I could probably do with JOKE). Also, I've already implemented different saber handles per color for the normal and long sabers. You could go to the SBX message board and look through the progress reports for a list of who's hilts are used.
As for comments about the supposed "uselessness" of the long saber, I'm afraid I'm going to have to respectfully deny such false statements. I find it quite useful in many situations. I also enjoy switching between all three sabers in duels for variety. Besides, wait until you see the new saber throw with the long saber ;)

Anyways since i got this mod i must say 3 things:
-This is the best sabre mod ever made period.
-The 'stab' is a useful tool (nice1 shadowX)
-The longsabre is useless my freind...(lol)
OK man the only thing i had problems with was i thought the lightstaff/and kick had slightly more damage with a hit(10%) then i thought would be good. It would be nice to not be able to kick rapidly as some ppl tend to use it just to stay where they r and just swing and kick. The longsabre goes against all star wars episodes. I mean why have such a sabre when the ordinary 1 and litestaff is way cool!! in my experience on playing with sbx2 in zone not many ppl use longsabre.
Anyways i cant wait for sbx2.1 for jk...Oh yea congrats on the best sabre mod ever ...Its like another game....

It seems the extended saber is far too underrated. First, there is precedent in the Star Wars universe for this saber. It was mentioned in at least one of the novels. I believe Luke used one in the Jedi Academy trilogy, but I'm not completely sure if that was the instance. It is definately mentioned in one of the novels somewhere, though. So the point is that the extended saber concept was not just pulled out of thin air.
My other point is one on strategy. The extended saber cannot be used in the same manner as a regular saber or lightstaff. It involves patience and the ability to keep your opponent(s) at a distance. It's not intended for charging, but requires instead a bit of finesse and situational awareness. The ability to anticipate your opponents moves is also helpful. It's really quite fun to have lightstaff vs. extended saber duels.
The ability to toggle powers like Persusasion on and off is also good, as are the dodging moves and of course, the stars of the show, the sabers.
Some people will no doubt be up in arms at the removal of the bowcaster and concussion rifle, but to be honest, I hate those weapons anyway. Do you want to remove the mines for me as well? ;-)
The extended saber is deinitely part of the Star Wars universe. Most Jedi Knights build their lightsabers with setter switches that control the length and power of the saber. When Luke built his in SotE (Shadows of the Empire) he only put one Adegan jewel (as opposed to the normal three) in it, meaning he couldn't control the length. Just thought you'd want to know.
The effects in general are very 'Jedi Outcast-ish' but I feel that despite this MOD being kick ass, MORE could be made of it. You've already beaten Spork at its own game, so why not try knocking Enhancement Pack (which is good nonetheless) from its lofty perch?
It's probably too late now, what with the imminent release of JK2. If I could edit, I'd certainly work on this (with your permission of course.) Oh well.
I've finished waffling now. In a few words, This MOD Kicks Ass.
