This is one of the best SP levels to grace this site in a long time. The story, while nothing drastically new, is certainly interesting, and a nice change of pace. The gameplay was great, with a few surprises along the way. The secrets were well-hidden but not ridiculous (IE: "walk through this wall that's GEO 4 but not solid" - I hate "secrets" like that). The puzzles are fairly complex, but very believable and well-executed. The architecture, lighting and texturing were superb; they fit the atmosphere and mood perfectly.

I wish more level authors would send levels like this.

When I saw there was a new Single Player level on the site's main page, I thought it was probably another half-baked adventure in box land made on JKEdit. How wrong was I.

As Brian mentioned, the visuals of this level were superb and created a perfect mood, and it is always a pleasure to see a new skin in a single player level. The puzzles were great, not too easy, but not the kind that are impossible to figure out. Of course, like all levels, it had a couple of flaws. Even though the author shows some excellent COG usage late on in the level, he didn't take the time to create a startup COG so that the player selected a weapon. This may seem like a petty thing to winge about, but it instantly gave a very unprofessional feel at the start, luckily this feeling was remeded later on. I also felt that the level could have done with more health pickups.

Overall, it is definately worth the download, especially for the file size. Sure, I could name some better levels, but I could name a lot more that are worse.

Really great level.
This one definitely stands out - great (if in the beginning somewhat bland) architecture, great enemy placement, very good use of COGs and pretty interesting puzzles.
I haven't had so much fun in a SP for quite some time - pretty much LEC quality (take that as a compliment ;-)

Piggot I think the absence of a start cog was on purpose, as you pick up your gear once you land in the water.

Well the guy could have at least got his fists out or something at the start, it just seemed weird that he started off with no right hand.

This seems like a very minor gripe. I can guarantee you that no military commander would appreciate you walking up to him will a weapon out! I also use 1st person view so I didn't actually see him w/out a fist. I would chalk this up to a JK limitation rather than an editor's error since you can't have a pose with a fist but w/out a weapon pulled (or your fists out to box) w/out making an entirely new character 3do or pup or whatever - and for that one little briefing room, it's just not worth it.

I know, it's a very very small thing, it just gave a rushed impression for the first five seconds of the level. Basically, it was one of the only bad things about the level that I could remember, that's the only reason that I mentioned it.

A very good level, with great architecture. The author has clearly put a lot of effort into it

Alright, I'm rating this level as I go through it. =)

First off, I agree on Anthony's point. The gun should have been selected at the start.

Now when I dropped into the lake I noticed several things. If I jumped out of it and back in, like I was on the surface of it, it would keep reselecting my gun.

Also, I went over to where one of the decoration waterfalls were and had to restart the level.

When I did, the music continued and did not shut off until I left JK...=/

Well, just beat the level, and it's a pretty good one.

I'm going to give it a 8/10

That first screenshot worried me, but the level was quite a bit of fun.. Not the architecture I'm used to from Mango, but a very solid level.

This level was pretty good- one of the best in a long time. However, I did find a few problems. The beginning cutscene where your view progresses to the lake is buggy sometimes, causing JK to crash. The map is a bit tricky, but not incredibly tricky- it took me 20 minutes to finish. The architecture is pretty good, however I think there wasn't much of a challenge, except with the puzzles. This is a good level if you want some gaming for about 15-40 minutes. All in all, I give it a 6/10

An Awesome effort put in here. I loved every minute of this lvl. Well textured, well thought, great architecture. Not that many SP Levels made for JK any more. And this one is up there with the greats. So in other words. You dont find many levels like this anymore. Download it.

Wonderful level! I give it an 8. While architecture isn't very advanced, the texturing is good so it doesn't really matter (imho). Gameplay was great, a nice storyline! One bug that annoyed me was that the door to go outside (in that control room w/ glass windows) wouldn't open for me. It was probably just JK going goofy, so I hold nothing against the author.

Nice level, and nice job on LotW!

Emon, it's not a bug, that's how it's supposed to be! **spoiler** (small one) - you get outside by going through the pipes, not by using the door... If you are already outside, then go inside through that door, then you can go back out it if you want.

It could be how I was feeling when I played it, coz everyone else seemed to love it.
I'm not an editor - just a gamer.
I found the level a bit boring.
So I played it with Killer Weapons Pack which spiced it up a bit.
I don't think it was the 'epic' it was said to be!

This was an overall challenge. The lighting was really good, as was the camera movements at the beginning. I give it a 9.

GREAT, good job pal. I downloaded all the levels before this one in alphabetical order and this is the better up to now YAY. Your idea was very original, the secret areas were not too easy not too hard, this skin was very cool, the level was perfect, this was realistic, do other levels man, this one was at least as good as JK's ones. I give it 10/10

Very good level. I usually prefer SP level packs to individual levels, but this one was fun nevertheless. Very good design, too.

Ghost's Review:

Architechture: Wow that is amazing! Plus there was a very little boxiness feel.

Gameplay: This was the first time as soon as you enter the level, you get dropped into a lake. As soon as I saw this I thought... I'm going to be attacked by drugons in the beginning? Oh boy, was I wrong! I liked the way how he did those pipes because I got confused when I tried to get them up to the vetilation shaft(I better quit on this so people can figure it out for themselves).

Final Comments: A great level that has a found a great place on my hard drive.

Pretty nifty level. Well though out and fun. I give it an 8 because I feel 9+ should be reserved for lvl packs, since the author obviously put more work in. For a lone SP lvl it rules, though. :)

I cannot find the "explosives" that apparently destroy the core reactor, or whatever that thing is. Very nice level; good lighting and excellent architechture, but I am sad I couldn't ever figure out how to destroy the reactor.

I have got to say, this one was good. It shows how good it is that the only complaint they can come up with is so small. Like it.

This is a small but fun level. I played it with the Imperial Weapons Patch 2 which makes for a funny ending if you do it right. Instead of using the lift to get to the shuttle, use the grappling hook. This completes the mission, yet at the cutscene at the end when the shuttle takes off, you can see yourself dangling on the grappling hook line from the shuttle. Pretty funny.

All in all, a nice level with good puzzles. Well done.

Traner_Patrick's Review

Okay. I liked this level. It has everything you could offer in a good level. It was good because it didn't pile on a bunch of enemy's in one room. I think there could have been a boss there. It had seceret levels, and a pretty good cut sceane in the beginning. You had to find some keys for some switches, but that's what makes it a good level.

Very enjoyable level. Rather short, and that's the only reason I only gave it a seven. If it was longer, it woulda gotten an 8 or 9.

Anyway, I had problems with the door, too. How *do* you get through to that control room? I coudln't figure out a way, finally, I ended up having to use "wamprat" and getting to the end of the level, then backtracking. Very confusing.

But the rest was definately fun. :)

Wow, that's a fun level. I like how it was puzzled with the gates and switches, and I really liked that Rebel Spec Ops Skin; it looked good. I played it with the Blastech Dl-44 mod which was perfect for that level.
