Architecture is getting good and a few fun cogs. As always I do have some suggestions though:
-I jumped out a window and landed on Starry.mat without dying in 2 areas
-Vader AI doesn't work at the end
-One or two surfaces are flagged strangely
-Your first E-WEB doesn't work right but I know JKEDIT has problems with that
Very good effort, keep it up!
the first eweb works ok yet the bullets dont go into space because that is a wall with flags to make it a sky. your just shooting a wall. i used jkedit the entire time to make all of the levels. thanks for the good repls though. i am used to getting put down. guess what, everytime i finish and publish a level, i find out how to do something new, i just found out how to make a starting level cutscene. Yea i know about the vader part. but did you guys like all of the flying ships? I can tell you guys how to do that without using keyframes. samething goes for the moving stormies. Did you like the vader breathing sounds? I would have to give that to Anthony Piggot. I got the cog from him.
DarthDude - where have you been. I released Stormtrooper:Vengeance less than a month ago and it is so incredibly much better than this.
I don't want to "dump" on you, but I can't believe that these people are playing the same level I was. What were you guys thinking giving it a good rating? I give it a 1, maybe a 2 and that's only because there was some decent cogging? The rooms are almost all rectuangul are (a thumbs up though for having non-rectangular screens and windows was good). The texturing was dull and took leaps for no aparent reason. You break through windows that open into space (that's not right). And why are there 4 levels anyway? They could easily all be done in 1 level and it would have much better flow.
You can walk right through the all 3 of the first levels without fighting anyone if you don't hit them first. Heck even the first time I fought Vader he didn't hit back so I just punched him to death (this must be a bug of some kind because the second time through he fought back). There are ewebs in 2 of the levels but nothing to shoot at.
When you look at the objectives it just says some jibberish about how its a demo and doesn't give you objectives - that could so easily be changed. While we're on objectives - in the first level you grab a red key and it says "Mission Objective Complete" but you never actually use the key!
In the first level you step into a sector and it plays a line from StarWars A New Hope about "bring the passengers to me". What passengers?
This level just left so much to be desired. My advice to everyone is don't wast your time downloading it. My appologies to the author if this seems harsh, but these levels could have been so much more if you had spent a little more time and taken care of the things like the eweb just shooting a wall of stars.
first off, the red key goes to a door in the first level. get the key and go into the room right before the trash dump(convayer)
and if you read the text at the top it says i need a red key for the door on the left. it is a secret door(it is 1 of the 3 secrets in the level.) and i got the idea off of spaceport when mara walks in and the stormies dont care until 1 of them is injured. so if your downing me your downing Mr. George Lucas himself. Well i thank everyone else for the good comments. I have worked especially hard on the first level like everyone wanted to. the other 3 were just "story backers." I hope whoever is reading this will download the evel and see what you think. I am open for suggestions.
did n e 1 like the hologram in the control room of the first level? And the whole objective of the level was for kyle to get a good look about how the imperials run things and then( givin the chance) kill Vader as an extra bonus. I hope you also saw the flying ships. i used a specifc cog that makes that happen WITHOUT keyframes which is very easy to do.
Granted, this level is the author's best to date, but it is still a very weak level.
1)There is no plot. We are told Kyle is in a Vader costume, but that's it. Why is Kyle in a Vader costume? Where did he get it? Why does he have a lightsaber, since he wouldn't have had it when Vader was alive? Why are players forced to fight Vader in yet another level?
2) Texturing is poor. There are rooms with the same computer panel mat repeated all over the walls.
3) Architecture is better that the previous levels, but only in minor ways. There are some round windows, but all of the rooms are again, just large boxes.
4) Gameplay is where these levels really suffer. Since each level contains only 4 rooms or less, many times, I completed the objective before I knew what was going on. Since I was told to leave the people alone and they won't attack, I merely walked through the first 3 levels without firing a shot. Many times the objectives involved opening a door, and when you opened the door, there was a wall on the other side.
Using JKEdit is not valid excuse anymore for making these types of levels. Time, patience, and effort could have been taken to make the level visually appealing as well as fun and challenging to play. I rated it a 2.
The plot had many problems, as Chewbubba stated.
Architecture was very poor on the whole, but I know the author can architect because there were some circular windows. It just seems that he didn't put the effort in. Texturing was also very poor.
The first three levels ended with Kyle walking into a wall behind a door.
How come enemies attack you on the first level and not the second?
Also, Vader was way too easy to kill, he didn't attack me once.
This level may have had a hope of working in late 1997, but three years into JK editing, it hasn't got a hope in hell.
I think the author has potential, I recommend he keeps trying and I strongly believe he can one day "get there".
Vader does just sit there and take it easy untill you kill him, however just before he died he did try a token lightening bolt or two.
Deffinitally better levels out there.
At least this is a new level out for MoTS, something that hasn't happened in a long time.
Vind
that is all I don't see any thing in your lavel to say it's a bad level, it isn't.
I hope you make a sequel for this level after killing Vader how Kyle escaped or something .....
I got a few of your levels, and I think it's getting better every time you publish one.
Peace out-

How did he know he needed a red key eh eh?
Vader seemed sluggish and too easy to beat, the backgrounds need more attention too.
'Commander bring me the passengers I want them alive'? hummmm If this was Vaders Base why is he after passengers? Wouldn't there be just officers and troops on board?
Ahh well, have a look but don't expect to be blown away.
On a different note, I REALLY wish the level author would stop postin' apologetic messages in the form of comments on his own level unless it's something understandable like a response to a question about what to do next to advance further in the story or somethin'. But his posts AREN'T all A's to Q's. Don't believe me? Then read up for yourself. It just seems weird that someone would drop levels that seem like they were worked on for 15 min. max w/ frequent, needless acid-droppin' breaks in between, then (for instance on another of his levels, thja2 or somethin' like that) diss his own level and agree 100% w/ other people who think his level sucked Oprah-sized a-- before she lost 75,000lbs. Well, man, if you agree w/ what those people think, and you knew about it, why the h--- did you put the level out as-is anyway?! You could of at least worked an extra 10 min. on it to lessen the slams your now takin'. And the one message post that I think offers the best, most constructive-criticism and accurate depiction of the level (by Mike) gets frowned at 'cause it was still critical. Man, if he took the time to post an elaborate ratin' like that you shouldn't just brush him off or flame him. H---, this post is probably goin' to get verbally fragged 'cause I'm statin' the facts! Bottom line: this level is about as wacky as a BLUE Greedo. Yes, some of you still THINK he's blue, buts that's 'cause your color-blind or easily fooled by the fact that both green and blue are cool colors and the only thing seperatin' them is the larger amount of yellow present in green than blue.
loser . Your rating 00000000000000000.0
Con:
. I didn't like how it started off in a battle. The 1st room should always be empty so the player can get settled in. The stormtroopers basically have you killed before it even loads if you're not careful.
Besides. That everything else is good. Kay, now I've reconsidered. Since I only found 1 thing wrong with your level, I'll only deduct 1 point. So, my final rating will be a 9/10. Good job and well done!
But now that I am here, I guess I have to give these levels a try. I'll download them and play them later today. But now I'm gonna C and P my comments and ratings and move them where they should be.
Once that's fixed, I'll see what I think about these levels. You'll get my rating and my review when I'm done. Just give me a moment.
Pros:
. Secret areas aren't that hard to find
. Easy level. No problems beating it even on HM
. Quick-ish. This'll only take a few hours. Less than a day
. Small-ish. Size. It's literally less than 1 GB. PC's get 1000's
. Story. Decent plot.
. Is very fun.
Cons:
. Vader (undercover kyle)'s heavy breathing is annoying
. Some bugs. Not that many but still a few.
. Kill zone. Going in space is a death.
In conclusion, this was a worthwhile playthrough. I'd recommend downloading this level. There are more good things than bad things for this level.
Final mark: 7.75. You got about 3 quarters of perfect. 76% is still pretty good. Keep it up, author. I like your work.
