A Warm Farewell - 12/7/01

It has come time in my life to say farewell to The Massassi Temple. I've been working on the site for almost four years, and it has turned into something greater than I ever hoped for. This letter will serve as a long list of thanks for people that have helped out over the years.

Let's get the important stuff out of the way first.

  1. Massassi will not be closing.
  2. I will be signing ownership of Massassi and the massassi.net domain over to Kedri and blujay, two of the most valuable staff members Massassi has ever had, as well as Slug, one of the original creators and staff members.
  3. All email that has been piling up (tutorial submissions, cogs, etc.) have been forwarded to them for processing.
  4. Important: Since they own the site, they are under no obligation to run things "the way it's always been," so if you have any suggestions or complaints, I'm sure they'll be willing to take them into consideration.

Now for the fun stuff!

Quite a few people have asked my why I am quitting, so here's the answer. I have been working on the site for almost four years. I have met an incredible number of amazing people, and I've had a great time overall. However, I have other interests and obligations that simply must take a front seat in my life at this point. I'm two quarters away from finishing college, I've got some other offline projects that need my full attention, and finally, I'm simply drained. It's hard to find the motivation after school each day to come work on something I've been doing almost non-stop for the past four years.

Here is a list of thanks to the many people that have helped me out over the years. These are in no paticular order. It's flat impossible for me to remember everyone, and for that, I apologize. Also please forgive me if I butcher your name/nickname... it's hard to remember so many.

It's very difficult to imagine life without all the people I've met through Massassi. I wouldn't give any of it up for the world.

If everything works out, you'll find more of me in print and on the internet as time passes, but not any time too soon. And that's all I have to say about that.

Until next time,
Brian
