Tosche Station
Author: [Guardian] Reviewer: [Rogue Leader]
- Aesthetics:
- The author said that this level was made to test the limits of the MotS engine. Nothing in this level is truly spectacular though. Architecture is pretty good. The canyon walls went straight up, but the author cleaved the corners and made the wall a little varied, so it's not boxy. The buildings look good outside. They have some nice curved surfaces on the top. Inside, they have sort of a boxy feel to them. All the textures were aligned, and fit into the level well. Most of the level was fully lit, but there was some lighting in the cave that you start in. There were even some pit droids and jawas running around, which is about all the excitement your going to have in this level.
- Gameplay:
- This is where the level really falls short. I have no idea why the author decided to make this a single player level. There aren't any enemies, or mission objectives. The truth is, except for the indoors areas, you can see all of the level from the two screenshots in this review. It probably would have taken ten minutes for the author to convert this into a multi-player level. I think it would have done well as one too. As it is, there are almost no weapons in the level, except for a few detanators.
- Final Comments:
- Don't download this level unless you like running around looking at buildings and shooting pedestrians, because that's all there is to do in this level. I just wish the author had decided to make it multi-player, because I think it would have done well as one.
