The Phantom Menace: Final Battle (Revised)
Author: [Darth Maul] Reviewer: [Home_Sliced]
- Aesthetics:
- This is an average looking level. The main fighting area is reminiscent of the reactor room in TPM, although it is far from a replica. The texturing is very dull with little variety and there is also a bad stitching error. The lighting was pretty good incorporating both shadowy areas in the corners with a brightly lit central area on the catwalks. There’s a nifty little cutscene to start the level to go along with the new Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Darth Maul skins. All in all, it’s a very average level aesthetically.
- Gameplay:
- I found this level to be both frustrating and boring. I fail to see what makes this saber fight any more exciting than any other one. The new skins and the addition of Qui-Gon to help you kept the level from being totally boring, but there just wasn’t much to the level. There were no items (although you do have force heal). The catwalks might make good flow for a quickly moving MP game, but the AI moves way to slow to have much of a good flow in this level. To sum it up, there are better saber levels out there.
- Final Comments:
- Unless you really love single player saber battles, I would avoid this one.
