Remnants of the Empire Part 3: The Desert of Tatooine
Author: [SavageX] Reviewer: [Home_Sliced]
- Aesthetics:
- A quick note: this review is only for level 3 of the ROTE series, not the entire series. Visually, this is a stunning level very reminiscent of level 1 in “Pride of the Empire” and level 2 in “One Rebel’s Sacrifice.” The entire level takes place inside the twists and turns of a Tatooine canyon. The lighting is excellently done almost everywhere. The level does become slightly monotonous towards the end due to a lack of visual diversity. In other words, it’s exactly like Tatooine! There are a few cutscenes added in as well as a cool new weapon that I really like. This is certainly not a static level, but it is not as exciting as the other levels in the series.
- Gameplay:
- This level does not play nearly as well as levels 1 and 2 in the series. There is simply not as much to do or as many places to explore. I did not become as involved in this level as I did in the other two levels in the series. Item and enemy placement were both decent. The level flows fairly well from start to finish, and there is a fair amount of up and down movement. All in all, this is a solid level, and you will enjoy playing it.
- Final Comments:
- This may be the weakest level in the ROTE series thus far, but it is still a great level. Download the whole series and start blasting!
