Aesthetics:

This was the author's first level, and I thought it was a pretty good first try. Architecture was varied enough to provide interesting views, but some areas were too wide-open. Texturing was done pretty well, though a bit repetitive in some of the outdoor areas. Lighting was pretty uniform, but it did vary quite a bit in the temple area. Dynamics were pretty much standard: elevators and doors, though there was a nice view of the drill turning.

Gameplay:

This levels greatest appeal in the gameplay area was its puzzles. I found myself looking several times for a passageway into another part of the temple. Also, health packs were well placed, which is pretty rare in author's first levels. Also, there was a new enemy:a bubble that shot lightning. It was a neat effect. There were some drawbacks though. In one area, after going up an elevator, the game froze for some reason. Also, some of the objectives didn't register after you had completed them. And finally, the big head in the temple disappeared at several angles. Nothing major, but it did take away from overall gameplay.

Final Comments:

A very decent try for the author's first level. Compared to other levels its not great, but it provides some interesting challenges to meet. I would download it just to see what its like, and I think the author should be watched for future releases which will only get better.
